Southwood provides activities such as a community pool, tennis courts, play grounds, parks, nature trails, a community center for personal events, a community garden, and a golf club. This neighborhood is zoned for Florida High or Conley  elementary, Florida High or Fairview middle, and Lincoln or Florida High/Rickards high school
